AIM Leadership

Sue LaBonville - President & CEO

Sue is a proven leader with nearly two decades of experience designing and implementing business intelligence solutions for multinational corporations, foundations, trade associations and economic development organizations. She joined AIM in 1993, worked through the ranks and became the president/CEO and majority shareholder in 2005. Under her leadership AIM has been honored as a Top 50 Companies to Watch in Michigan (2008) and a Top 50 Woman-Owned Businesses in Michigan (2011). She completed training through the National Center for Economic Gardening and is certified as a Market Research Specialist and a Program Director. Sue is an active member of the Strategic and Competitive Intelligence Professionals (SCIP) since 1999 and has presented and exhibited at local and national meetings of SCIP. Sue is pleased to contribute to the community through various committees/volunteer opportunities and roles including President of the Meridian Board of Education, Leadership Midland Alumni Association, Small Business Association of Michigan Leadership Council and the Steering Committee for the Midland Area Chamber of Commerce Young Entrepreneurs Academy.

Anne Herron - Vice-President

As VP of Business Intelligence, Anne's responsibilities include new business prospecting, current client/project development and personnel development. Over the past decade, Anne has lead a team of highly qualified analysts, librarians and business intelligence professionals, serving senior executives at Fortune 100 companies in delivering successful solutions. She has spent much time in attending and assisting in the development of educational/training engagements in the field of intelligence - including public domain collection & analysis, elicitation and information systems - speaking at venues such as management graduate school programs, professional associations and Fortune 100 companies. Anne enjoys serving the community in which she lives and works; she is committed to the United Way organization as the local Communication Chair and enjoys volunteering as a guest lecturer at the DeVos Graduate School of Management at Northwood University. Prior to her career at AIM, she was an Analytical Chemist in Polymer Sciences for The Dow Chemical Company.

Sara Eardley - Research Director

Sara is responsible for cultivating AIM's global resources, including discovering, evaluating, and implementing innovative tools used by AIM's team of expert researchers and analysts. She has over 15 years of professional research experience in both corporate and academic environments and is active in the Special Libraries Association (SLA) and other industry groups. Sara has an MILS from Wayne State University and an MS from Indiana University.

Matthew O'Connor - Director of Strategic Intelligence

Matt leads AIM's strategic new business development and marketing initiatives and serves as senior project leader for AIM's innovative and highly respected global competitive intelligence services. In over 12 years of information industry experience, he has created and delivered insightful and ethical primary and secondary research that informs decisions, drives strategy, and discovers opportunities. In addition to AIM, he is also president of SCIP's Michigan chapter and has held diverse research and marketing positions at Plenum Publishing Company, Kluwer Academic Publishers, Wayne State University and Penn State University. He has an MLIS from Wayne State University and an MBA in international business from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. He can be reached by email or 989-835-5811.

Amjad Syed - Sr. Programmer Analyst, DBA, GIS and Director of Technology

Amjad leads AIM's strategic technology initiatives in intelligence discovery and application. He has over two decades of experiences creating search engines, databases, analytical tools, SEO strategies, and GIS insight. Amjad recently completed training through the National Center for Economic Gardening and is certified as a Geographic Information Systems Specialist. His expertise allows AIM to leverage innovative techniques which increase the impact of AIM's research through powerful exploration, correlation, and distribution models. Amjad specializes in office automation, web-based applications, and data transformation services using the latest technologies in ASP.NET, JAVA, JQuery, JSON, XML, and HTML5.
